Microsoft announces that they will permanently close retail stores around the world and continues their online store. Four stores will remain open for physical testing purpose in London, New York, Sydney and Washinton Head Quarter.
According to the announcement, nearly 100 Microsoft stores which closed during Pandemic will not reopen.
Announcement said “Our sales improve in digital online store. And we will focus on our digital store more.”
Microsoft put more interest in cloud computing during these years and retail stores are selling Surface Tablets and laptops which cannot compete Apple Stores.
Technology analyst Neil Cybart said that Microsoft closes its retail stores because consumers reduce interest in Surface devices.
