Facebook is testing a feature that can lock iOS Messenger with Face ID or Touch ID. This feature can be used in WhatsApp and will roll out for Messenger soon.
Users can set that FaceID (TouchID) is needed for every time when opening Messenger or for a certain period of time. This feature can only be used to lock the whole app, not for individual conversations.
Facebook now allows a limited number of users to use the lock feature and will roll out widely soon as well as for Android.
The spokesperson of Facebook told “We want to give our users more options to protect their messages. Hence, we were testing a lock feature for Messenger and this will be another option to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the messages.
